Mixed & Trick Questions Quiz
Cross-domain, false-premise and 'NOT, EXCEPT, WEAK' style questions — the format that silently decides marks between equally prepared candidates.
What this set covers
This set is built from the question types that separate prepared candidates from lucky ones: NOT, EXCEPT, LEAST and NEWLY frames, statements with a false premise hidden in the second clause, and chronological ordering across unrelated domains. Every question has been checked so that the explanation shows why the answer is right, not merely why the other options are wrong.
The method the explanations model is worth copying: read the frame twice, isolate the qualifying word, and eliminate on evidence rather than familiarity. For combination statements, judge each clause as a separate true or false test before looking at the coded options — most candidates lose marks by accepting a partly correct statement as fully correct.
Use the set as a diagnostic. If a wrong answer comes from misreading the frame rather than missing knowledge, the fix is slower reading rather than more revision; if it comes from a factual gap, the explanation points onward to the guide that covers it.
Practice Session
Choose a difficulty and length. Questions are drawn at random from the 25questions in “Mixed & Trick” and options are shuffled, so every attempt is different.
