C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada began holding congregational chanting programs and Bhagavad Gita discourses across Punjab and Haryana. In 1979, land was formally acquired in Sector 36-B, and the foundational temple was consecrated. Over the ensuing decades, generous contributions from local industrialists, businessmen, and devotees enabled the construction of the present monumental marble complex.
In 2003, grand ceremonies marked the installation of the divine murtis of Sri Sri Radha Madhava and Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, establishing Chandigarh as a pivotal center for Vaishnava education in northern India.
